Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Rabel, aged 54, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on May 23, 2024. Her loss is completely unexpected and her family is profoundly saddened.
Becky was born to Neal and Jane Rabel in Houston, Texas on March 9, 1971 at St Joseph's Hospital, the same hospital where her mother was born 30 years prior. She was the oldest of three children.
She is survived by her loving parents, her brothers: Brent of Houston; Eric of The Woodlands (wife Cayce), nephew (Patrick), niece (Graycen); numerous aunts and uncles: Mike Nevinger of Houston, Glenn and Linda Rabel of Weimar, Lynnette and CD Prince of Pittsburgh, TX as well as numerous cousins.
Becky is preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; Leslie & Rose Rabel and George & Anne Nevinger.
Becky grew up in Sharpstown, in southwest Houston. She attended Sutton Elementary, Jane Long Middle School, Sharpstown High School, and The Houston Learning Center graduating in 1988. Becky worked in laminating for many years and later in home retail sales.
Becky was a loving sister and daughter. She loved to travel especially if it was a road trip. She loved listening to live music and was always on the hunt for the best fajitas and a good margarita. She enjoyed tinkering in the yard with her mom and loved talking current events as well as sports.
Becky was an extremely proud aunt who loved keeping up with all the activities Patrick and Graycen were involved in: especially swimming, football, and track and field.
On Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM, Becky will be laid to rest at The Weimar Masonic Cemetery following a short graveside service. A 10 AM visitation will be held prior to the service at Hubbard Funeral Home in Weimar, Texas.
