Gloria Brandt Obituary

Gloria Ann Brandt of Weimar, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the age of 76. She was born on February 10, 1946, in Weimar, Texas to Raymond Herzik and Gertrude Muehr Herzik.

Gloria attended St. Michael Catholic School in Weimar and graduated from Bishop Forest High School in Schulenburg in 1964. She married Arthur Brandt Jr. on July 22, 1968. After her children started school, she worked as a seamstress, and later at M-G Farm Service Center, where she retired in 2020.  She and her husband raised AKC White German Shepherds for over 40 years, and was the local Avon lady for over 20 years. 

She had an extensive love for flowers, which could be easily seen by her beautiful flower beds around her home.  Gloria loved gardening and canning as well.  She had a special fondness of animals, especially hummingbirds and her pets.  Her grandchildren were also very special to her, and you could find them at her house nearly every weekend. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Brandt, Jr., parents, Raymond and Gertrude Herzik, sister Gladys Majgarevich and her husband Dan, infant sister Linda Rose Herzik, and infant brother Ronald Herzik.

Survivors include her children, David “Butter” Brandt and wife Amy, Roxane Brandt and boyfriend Brian Hudec; and stepchildren Debbie Piper and husband Ronnie, and Arthur “Bubbie” Brandt III.  Seven Grandchildren – Brendan Brandt, Dawson Brandt, Kevin Piper, Steven Piper, Shelli Blythe, Kelli Piccirilli, and Arthur “AJ” Brandt IV, and eight great grandchildren also survive her.  She is also survived by her brothers Dennis Herzik and wife Lynette, and Harold Herzik and wife Michelle, along with several nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers include Brendan Brandt, Russell Herzik, Dustin Herzik, Joey Herzik, Chad Noska, Clay Heller, and Ronald Rosenauer.  Honorary Pallbearers are Dawson Brandt, Kevin Piper, Steven Piper, and AJ Brandt. 

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 410 N. Center St., Weimar, Texas 78962. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Hubbard Funeral Home, 216 E. Jackson St., Weimar, Texas 78962. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Brandt Family Cemetery in Holman, Texas.
