Edwin Joe Mazoch

Edwin Joe Mazoch, “Ed”, of Weimar, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the age of 85. He was born on October 5, 1935 in Holman, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ignac and Frances Mazoch, and by his brother, Wilbert Mazoch.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Marie Mazoch; children, Duane Mazoch (Sheryl), Denise Loftin (Herb), and Dara Weinstock (Craig); grandchildren, Desiree Pasternak (Phil), Stephen Howard (Rute), Meghan Scott, Ashley Smith (Gary), Sean Scott (Siyan), and six great grandchildren.

The Visitation will be held at the Hubbard Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 9, 2021 and will begin at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at St. Michaels Archangel Catholic Church, 410 N. Center St., Weimar, Texas 78962. The Burial will follow afterwards at the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Howard, Sean Scott, Craig Weinstock, Gary Smith, Russell Morgan, and Steve McClintock. Honorary pallbearers are Herb Loftin, Buddy Brandt, and Gene Juergens.

Ed or “Mo” as he was affectionately called by his friends, will be remembered as a devoted family man who would do anything for his loved ones. Mo gave his time generously, and he loved to cook huge family meals at holidays.  He will also be remembered for his great sense of humor and love of God, sports and nature.

The family would like to give a special thanks for the support of family and friends, as well as the nurses, aides, physical therapists and all of the staff at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center.
