Ronnie Myers Obituary

Ronnie C. Myers, 78, of Weimar passed away on Thursday January 4th, 2024, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home. Ronnie had a short bout of cancer and had his family by his side as he passed away.

Ronnie was born on August 5th, 1945, in Hardyville, Kentucky. He grew up in the country in Kentucky and moved to Texas when he was around 11 years old.

Ronnie served 4 years in the army. When he got out of the army, he got his bachelor's degree at Tarleton State University while being a Stephenville Police Officer. Ronnie majored in criminology and minored in psychology. After working with Stephenville PD, Ronnie transferred to Fort Worth PD. Ronnie continued his dedication to the community and started working at the Dallas County Sherif's Office where he went on to retire. After taking a couple years off from work, Ronnie decided to continue doing what he loved and went to work for the Columbus PD, where he retired for the final time in 2011.

Once Ronnie retired, he loved to spend time with his family. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his grandchildren.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie Myers, children; Jalea Cody, Stephanie C. Miachel and husband Caine, Melissa Montanus and husband Alan, Russell Newsom and wife Tara, Stephanie L. Koopmann and husband Jason, Richard Ryba and wife Carla, and Victoria Dominguez and husband Emmanuel. Ronnie is also survived by his 2 brothers Freddy Hughes and wife Sharon, Phillip Myers and wife Kathy, sister Towana Graham and husband Larry. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Dimple Bishop, father Herbert Myers, sister Patty Mayer, and grandson Gavin Newsom.

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, at Hubbard Funeral home in Weimar from 5-8pm. Ronnies graveside burial will be held at the Masonic Cemetary on Thursday, January 11th, 2024, at 11am.
