Lucas Collin Rowton

Lucas Collin Rowton passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 52 in Houston, TX.

After graduating from El Campo high school, Lucas joined the Navy in 1993 where he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. He settled on the USS George Washington with a career in IT all while sailing the seas and traveling the world.

Lucas moved to Michigan where he found a love for hockey and football. If he wasn’t playing hockey himself, you could find him watching a Red Wings game or cheering on his two favorite football teams, the Packers or the University of Michigan Wolverines.

He finally made it back to Texas and picked up a couple new hobbies of scuba diving and fishing. He loved spending time with his family after so many years away and would often share stories of his time in Michigan, his friends, and his dog Buster that he loved so much.

Luke made friends all over the world through his jobs in IT, as a meat cutter at HEB and an Austin 911 operator gave him the opportunity to help people, share his smile and impact lives daily. He had a heart of gold and will be forever missed.

Lucas was preceded in death by his father, Edwin “Andy” Rowton. Left to cherish Luke’s memories are his mother, Patricia Ann Rowton (Schmeer); his sisters, Christie Rowton of El Campo, Texas, Kathy Sharp & husband Mike of Austin, Texas; his nieces & nephews, Haley Munoz, Crystal Mican, Michael Mendez, Alyssa Mendez, Zayden Sharp and Kyler Sharp.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Trinity Church, 1985 FM 155, Weimar, TX 78962. Visitation will begin at 10 AM and the Funeral service will promptly begin at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Trinity Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Michael Mendez, Tyler Mican, Lucas Munoz, Kyler Sharp, Mike Sharp, and Zayden Sharp.
