Aline M. Raabe Caraway passed away on the thirtieth of March, 2019, in Schulenburg, Texas at the Schulenburg RegencyNursing Center.  She was born on September 6, 1933 in Weimar, Texas to William Raabe and Louise Tipp.  She was raised on the family farm south of Weimar with her 10 brothers and sisters.  After graduation from Weimar High School, she moved toEagle Lake, Texas where she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

 Aline met and married James E. (Eddy) Caraway in Eagle Lake, Texas, where they lived while Eddy worked for Southern Pacific Railroad.  They had two children – James E. Caraway, Jr and Cynthia Caraway-Hamon who were raised in San Antonio where Eddy was employed by Southern Pacific Transportation Company.  Aline was a homemaker, gardener, sewing enthusiast and devoted church member in the numerous cities in which she and Eddy lived while he worked for Southern Pacific Railroad.

 Aline is survived by her son, Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) U. S. Army, Retired, James (Jim) E. Caraway, Jr. (wife – Bonnie Caraway) of San Antonio, Texas, and her daughter Cynthia A. Caraway-Hamon (husband- Dan Hamon) of Bozeman, Montana and four grandchildren:  Troy L. Hamon, Cary Hamon-Wood (husband Zachary Wood), Shawna Ten Bear Hamon, Laura J. Caraway and four great-grandchildren.

A Remembrance/Celebration of Life reception will be held on May 4th, 2019 at the United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall inWeimar, Texas at 10:00 a.m.  Graveside service will occur that same day at 3:00 p.m. at Mission Park Cemetery, 1700 S.E. Military Drive in San Antonio, Texas, Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel), U. S. Army, Retired, Jim Caraway officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that  donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
